Established in 2022, Pumpkin Cattery is a dual-registered cattery with WCF and NZCF, located in the heart of Auckland, New Zealand. We specialize in breeding exquisite British Shorthair cats, including golden, blue-golden, longhair, and shorthair varieties. Our cats are introduced from top-tier catteries around the world, ensuring exceptional bloodlines and quality.

Pumpkin Cattery
Due to New Zealand’s strict biosecurity regulations, each imported cat must undergo a quarantine period of over six months in a third country. This process requires significant investment in time, effort, and resources, with transportation costs ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 NZD per cat. As a result, our breeding cats are valued at approximately $20,000 NZD each, reflecting the high standards of care and dedication we uphold.

Philosophy
Our Breeding Philosophy
To prioritize the health and well-being of our cats, we limit each queen to one litter per year, with a maximum of three litters every two years. This ensures that our breeding cats remain healthy and happy, and their kittens are strong and vibrant.
Exceptional Diet Selection
We spare no expense in providing the best diet for our cats. Their food includes high-quality dry food such as Orijen, Royal Canin, and Instinct, complemented by premium wet food like K9 and Ziwi Peak.
Comprehensive Health Support
We also use imported Japanese milk powder (Premium brand) and probiotics (H&JIN) to maintain their health. Daily raw meat and nutritional supplements are included in their diet to ensure optimal growth and vitality. Early nutrition plays a critical role in a cat’s long-term health, and we take pride in raising kittens that are as healthy as they are beautiful.

Pricing and Inclusions
Our kittens are priced based on their color, bone structure, coat quality, appearance, and lineage. Below is our pricing structure:
Golden NY11: $4,800–$5,300
Golden NY12: $5,300–$6,300
Blue-Gold Gradient: $5,800–$6,300
Special Offer Cats (minor facial or coat variations): $2,000–$3,000
All prices include microchipping, first and second vaccinations, deworming, sterilization, a starter pack of food and litter, a gift package of canned food and treats, and six weeks of pet insurance. Shipping fees are not included, and breeding rights are negotiable.

If your budget is limited, feel free to share it with us. We occasionally have cats that may fit your budget and will notify you as soon as one becomes available.
Process Guide of Pumpkin Cattery
Visitation Policy
For the safety and well-being of our cats, Pumpkin Cattery is a closed cattery and does not accept visits. However, families in the queue can meet their chosen kitten at a designated location or make their selection through photos and videos.
Queuing and Selection Process
To ensure fairness, we operate on a queuing system. A non-refundable deposit of $500 secures your place in line, and this amount is deducted from the final payment. When kittens are 1–2 months old, families in the queue will have the opportunity to select their preferred kitten in order of reservation. If you don’t find a match in the current litter, your priority will carry over to the next.
